Board Member
Mustapha Orfali is a Board Member of the Lebanese Economic Association, where he has served since 2016, including as Treasurer, with responsibility for financial oversight, event organization, and research facilitation. He has led the Association’s research and policy discussions on post-crisis economic recovery, the impact of the Syrian refugee crisis, and fiscal policy.
An economic specialist with nine years of experience in economic policy, industrial strategy, and project management, he worked with Zamakan Management Consultancies, advising governments, private sector entities, and international organizations on economic development and industrial strategy. From 2019 to 2023 he served at the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, where he led transformative initiatives including the Abu Dhabi Local Content (ICV) Program and the Financial Ecosystem Program, boosting local procurement and SME growth, and helped organize high-level economic forums including GMIS and ADIPEC.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the American University of Science and Technology and is pursuing a master’s in Finance at the American University of Beirut. His expertise spans economic stabilization, public-private partnerships, and governance frameworks.
